Victor Wong is the CEO of Thunder, a pioneer in the programmatic creative industry. A guiding force in the company's creative management platform vision, he also served as the Interactive Advertising Bureau local committee co-chairman in 2010 and co-authored the IAB Local Targeting Guide. Wong is a fellow of the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute.

What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?

Founding my own startup during the financial crisis and growing it now to more than 70 employees.

What's the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 Under 40 honorees?

Don't ask for permission; ask for forgiveness. That is how creation and initiative is possible.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

I'm hoping to establish programmatic creative as the next disruptive wave in the advertising industry.

What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?

I used to commute between San Francisco and Connecticut to finish my degree while working on my startup.
