Matt Lattman, Senior director of marketing, Capital One, 33

Matt Lattman leads digital marketing for Capital One's consumer bank. He has also managed marketing for small business banking. Prior to Capital One, Lattman worked at BCG and LivingSocial.

He is a marketing professional with several years of experience leading high-performance teams. Lattman has expertise in myriad facets of the marketing value chain, from research to mass advertising to performance marketing, and he has specialized in B2B endeavors.

What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?

Creating more than 150 advertisements for small businesses in our Spark Plug campaign. Watching a business owner have tears of joy, seeing how we brought their business to life.

What's the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 Under 40 honorees?

Never compromise.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

Bring financial literacy to the masses.

What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?

I was a participant in The Washington Post Magazine's Date Lab.
