News Byte: ExactTarget Launches Salesforce ExactTarget Marketing Cloud

Scott Dorsey, CEO of Salesforce.com company ExactTarget and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, announced the debut of ExactTarget Marketing Cloud, a marketing platform that combines ExactTarget's email, mobile, web, marketing automation, data and analytics, and content capabilities with Salesforce's social media offerings: Buddy Media, Radian6, and Social.com. The announcement occurred during Dorsey's keynote at ExactTarget's Connections '13 conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The ExactTarget Marketing Cloud is designed to have an easy-to-use UI that enables marketers to toggle between  various disciplines within digital marketing. The product fuses all of the digital technologies ExactTarget and Salesforce acquired over the past two years. For instance, Salesforce's 2011 acquisition of Radian6 and its 2012 acquisition of Buddy Media allowed the CRM giant to create its Salesforce Marketing Cloud product, which it debuted September 2012. ExactTarget bought Pardot and iGoDigital in October 2012, before being acquired by Salesforce in June of this year.

One example of where these technologies meld together is ExactTarget Marketing Cloud's new advanced predictive analytics modeling. The iGoDigital technology acquired last year allows marketers to deliver personalized, predictive product recommendations and content based on customer preferences, browsing behaviors, and engagement.
