Mail-Well Acquires Label Manufacturer

Mail-Well Inc., Englewood, CO, announced Feb. 2 that it will acquire the label division of Lawson Mardon Packaging Inc., the second largest supplier of glue-applied labels in North America. The division, which specializes in labels for the beverage and food markets, will be called Mail-Well Label. It had $80 million in sales in 1997 and includes four manufacturing facilities. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Closing is expected to take place by the end of the month. Mail-Well operates nearly 70 printing plants and numerous sales offices throughout North America.
