Mail Boxes Etc. Launches E-Mail Service

Mail Boxes Etc. announced last week it will debut an e-mail service for customers and franchisers in the United states.

MbeMail, which will roll out in March, will be offered as part of a mailbox rental package or as a separate service. Features will include a spam blocker, read receipt, signatures, password exchanges and language selection.

MbeMail will allow MBE, San Diego, to broaden the scope of its business and will facilitate communication among the franchises and between the home office and the franchises.

The service will be offered internationally if the local launch proves successful, said Ray Causey, vice president and CIO at Mail Boxes Etc.

USA.NET, Colorado Springs, CO, will be the e-mail provider for MbeMail. USA.NET also provides e-mail services for American Express, Hewlett-Packard and United Airlines.
