Macy's integrates e-commerce, marketing efforts under Sachse

Current Macys.com chairman/CEO Peter Sachse was named chief marketing officer for Macys.com and president of Macy's Corporate Marketing. He replaced Anne MacDonald in the latter role.

An employee of Macy's since 1980, Mr. Sachse served as chief marketing officer and president of Macy's Corporate Marketing previous to his promotion to chairman last year.

By integrating online and marketing leadership under Mr. Sachse, San Francisco-based Macy's hopes to further build its brand awareness through internet advertising and capitalize on its growing e-commerce business.

Mr. Sachse will remain based in New York and report to Macy's chairman and president/CEO Terry J. Lundgren.

Before being named chief marketing officer and president of Corporate Marketing for the first time in 2003, Mr. Sachse was president and chief operating officer of Macy's Bon Marche division, now Macy's Northwest.

A native of Sheboygan, WI, Mr. Sachse lives in New York with his wife and their two children.
