Lunden, to Appear on Women's Supermarket Network

Joan Lunden will be appearing on strategically placed supermarket television screens across the country in six-minute health and food information pieces beginning in March.

As president of the Women's Supermarket Network, Lunden is using her well-known image to up the ante on competitors and firmly entrench the advertising screens in towns across the country. One-hundred sixty Shop-Rite stores have signed up to debut the network in their checkout and deli lines, and over the next year the company projects 200 supermarkets per month will install the 42-inch screens. The informational spots air along with heavy doses of advertising from companies such as Coca-cola, General Mills and Procter & Gamble Co.
