LSC to Manage Publishers Clearing House Files

Publishers Clearing House has named List Services Corp., Bethel, CT, as its exclusive list manager effective today. The files contain more than 18 million hotline names.

The Port Washington, NY, company, founded in 1953, has not had any files on the market for a decade because of privacy concerns. Made famous on television by the PCH Prize Patrol, the company has awarded more than $182 million in its Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.

The files include PCH.com buyers at postal addresses, PCH.com sweeps entrants at postal addresses, as well as an e-mail address master file. Also available is a PCH magazine buyers file that generates 195,000 hotline names each month. These buyers spend an average of $20 for subscriptions to their favorite magazines available from the PCH direct mail offerings. Its merchandise buyers file generates 650,000 hotline names each month.

Canadian names will be added to the file later this spring.

PCH has broadened its scope beyond magazine subscriptions and now offers general merchandise, videos, music, collectible books, jewelry and other products.
