Logix to Route Callers for 1-800-Taxicab

Logix On Demand has contracted to provide inbound call center services for 1-800-Taxicab, a national taxi-referral service.

Terms of the deal were not released.

Calls to the referral service's toll-free number will be routed to an interactive voice-response system that can determine the caller's location and automatically route the caller to a local cab company. When the IVR system can't identify the location from which the calls are coming, such as when a call is made by cellular phone, the calls are routed to a Logix call center agent.

Logix has a 60-seat, 20,000-square-foot call center in Camarillo, CA. The call center's agents have a database of local cab companies with approximately 20,000 taxis combined that work with 1-800-Taxicab, Los Angeles, and will route callers to a taxi service in their area.

The Logix call center also will field online requests for taxi referrals made at the 1-800-TAXICAB Web site at www.1-800-taxicab.com.
