Livemercial acquires RecruiTV

Livemercial, a provider of online direct response marketing and seminar lead generation services, has acquired RecruiTV Inc., which provides virtual recruitment video solutions.

RecruiTV sends out video crews to client sites and records videos of executives and recruitment managers to give users of the service a feel of the company's environment and mission. RecruiTV then creates a microsite with the video content that includes a form that applicants fill out based on their job hunt specifics. In order to pre-screen applicants, the technology then delivers different sets of questions depending on which position the user is interested in. Companies can also place the videos on job recruitment sites.

According to Johnny Mathis, Jr., CEO of Livemercial, RecruiTV was a great match for his company's technology. “The recruiting industry is one that has been using traditional means to find applicants, so using video technologies like Livemercial's and using a virtual call center can really put a twist on it,” he said. “It's more lead-generated which allows us to go into a struggling industry and figure out new ways of recruiting.”

RecruiTV will position itself as a Livemercial company and plans on hiring additional staff. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Livemercial currently provides “instant on” streaming video for e-mail, pop-ups, banners and direct response Web sites. They also recently launched Txt2Buy, a secure mobile ordering technology.

“Our goal is to find industries or verticals that can plug in our existing technologies,” Mathis said. “We really want to recreate and rebirth these industries with new technologies.”
