List Leaders Plan E-Mail Subcommittee

TORONTO -- The Direct Marketing Association's List Leaders group, made up of senior-level executives from list management and brokerage firms, is forming an e-mail list subcommittee "to try to build some cross-integration with AIM," or the Association for Interactive Marketing, according to David O. Schwartz, president of 21st Century Marketing, Farmingdale, NY, and chairman of the List Leaders.

The List Leaders made the decision during a meeting at the DMA's annual conference here this week, he said. In addition, the List Leaders also will dedicate one of the group's full day meeting in January to the topic of e-mail list management and brokerage.

"We are embracing it," Schwartz said of the growing significance of e-mail lists.

Several list companies at the conference were featuring their Internet products, and several commented that customers on the floor expressed interest in obtaining e-mail names and were seeking help in conducting e-mail campaigns.
