Lieber Leaves LLKFB

Bob Lieber, chairman/CEO of Omnicom Group Inc.-owned direct marketing agency LLKFB, left the shop Friday to start his own business involving direct and interactive marketing.

The departure comes eight years after Lieber began LLKFB with partners, including agency president Loreen Babcock and chief operating officer Harry Koenig. Omnicom bought the New York agency four years ago.

"It's actually a really interesting time," Lieber said. "Direct marketing has really been elevated from a standalone to really a way of marketing thinking and customer-driven philosophy. And from that position, it offers the opportunity to be much more of a strategic adviser to senior management."

Lieber is a 25-year veteran of direct marketing, having served at New York shops Lowe Direct and Marschalk Co. His responsibilities at LLKFB will be divided between Babcock and Koenig. The future of the chairman/CEO position was undisclosed.

LLKFB offers relationship marketing, mass media advertising and interactive services. Clients include FujiFilm, MasterCard, Pfizer, Abbott Laboratories, Air France and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
