Letter: Why Would Male Donors Be a Surprise Segment for a Male Disease?

Share this article:
Come again? "Surprise segment" - male donors, for an exclusively male disease? With all due respect, it's hardly surprising that the Prostate Cancer Foundation found men responding both at a higher dollar and a higher percentage to this cause than women ("Prospecting Finds Surprise Segment," July 19).

What is surprising is that it had to be discovered by a gender overlay on donors after the mailing!

For this cause, males should have been tested initially as separate segments. It would have saved time, work and money.
