Letter: Merchandising Shows Are Like a Pregnancy

This time of year I get excited about the upcoming merchandising shows and look forward to them.

I compare it to being pregnant: You anticipate it, enjoy the first four to five months, but eventually you wear out and feel you can't take another minute by the ninth month. Then after some time you forget the torture that comes with too much of a good thing and look forward to it all over again.

I love the first and second show of the season and actually enjoy the travel, but by the third trip in a month I'm not quite as enamored. We must cut back on travel expense this year, so I'll probably not reach my breaking point this season.
