Let the holiday marketing begin

This year seems to have flown by and I can't believe that Halloween is already over. But it seems to officially be holiday marketing season, as the catalogs and e-mails are starting to roll in. I've already received catalogs from the L. L.L. Bean, JCrew, the Chicago Art Museum and the New York MoMA. In addition, I've seen e-mails from TravelZoo, Virgin America and Southwest, all promoting last minute travel deals or gifts. I've also seen a number of display ads marketing holiday gift ideas. In this sea of marketing messages, I think that the campaigns that will do the best are the ones that offer good value, be it free shipping or a percentage off.
