KSL Media Completes Buyback

KSL Media, a 24-year-old media service company, completed its buyback from Interpublic Group of Companies Inc., a New York agency holding firm.

The buyback began in September 2001, two years after Chicago agency holding firm True North Communications bought KSL, New York. Interpublic soon acquired True North in a growing consolidation of the ad agency business. KSL quickly learned it was not central to Interpublic's plans.

KSL offers media services to agencies like kirshenbaum bond & partners' West Coast office, Pedone & Partners and Nelson Communications. Brands served include Boeing Co., Grey Goose Vodka and Countrywide Financial.
