Kmart, WWF Tag-Team for Online Promotions

Kmart Corp. and World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Inc. yesterday launched a co-branded sweepstakes campaign.

WWF.com and Kmart's BlueLight.com are carrying links to opt in to the sweepstakes until Friday. The contest features a grand prize of tickets to the WWF event Wrestlemania X-Seven at the Houston Astrodome on April 1. The prize includes airplane tickets and hotel accommodations as well as the chance to have lunch with WWF wrestler Kurt Angle. WWF, Stamford, CT, also will contribute T-shirts, hats, wrestler action figures, souvenir programs and free pay-per-view coupons to the sweepstakes.

Nicole Dowswell, spokeswoman for Kmart, Troy, MI, said the marketing relationship was a good demographic fit because Kmart's audience of mothers between 25 and 45 years old with annual household incomes of $25,000 to $49,000 control spending habits of much of the WWF's target audience of young males.

Financial terms of the agreement were not announced.
