Jones Lundin Beals Enters Asia-Pacific

Jones Lundin Beals, a U.S. consultancy that matches marketers with agencies, entered the Asia-Pacific market with an undisclosed equity investment in R3 Asia-Pacific.

The deal lets R3 Asia-Pacific represent Chicago-based Jones Lundin clients in the region, offering services in areas like agency retention, relationship management and compensation.

The Asia-Pacific region in the past five years has seen a new crop of direct and interactive agencies as well as media independents for planning and buying services. One corollary is the shift in compensation packages from commissions to fees and performance benchmarks.

It is this changing yet growing market that attracts Jones Lundin. Newly set up, R3 was launched by former DraftWorldwide executive Greg Paull and Goh Shu Fen, formerly of M&C Saatchi Singapore. R3 has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As part of the deal, Jones Lundin will serve R3's clients in the United States.

Founded in 1973, Jones Lundin also has offices in New York and Orange County in California. It has affiliates in Britain, Australia and Brazil. It has worked on clients like McDonald's Corp., U.S. Army, Kellogg Co., GlaxoSmithKline, Verizon, Hewlett-Packard Co., ExxonMobil and Volkswagen.
