John D. Lucas Enhances Image Reproduction

Printing firm John D. Lucas announced last week it would have more diverse image-presswork capabilities after purchasing a Heidelberg saddle stitching line and an upgraded inkjet printer.

The Baltimore-based firm says the technology will allow it to better compete in a growing East Coast printing market of direct marketers. The eight-pocket Heidelberg and the inkjet will allow John D. Lucas to improve its print detailing, such as matching addresses to personalized forms and marketing codes for improved tracking. Pricing for the services was not disclosed.
