Job Site For Techies Adds Skill Tests

ActLikeAnOwner, a Web firm offering temporary job placement for technical professionals, has started a free service that allows site members to test their professional skills.

To use the service, viewers must provide name, address and e-mail information to become site members. The members are then provided an html link that brings them to Brainbench.com, an online testing service. The members can take up to 300 different technology-based tests at the site. Each test typically includes 40 questions with multiple-choice answers.

ActLikeAnOwner, Columbia, MD, partnered with Brainbench Certifications, Chantilly, VA, to make the service possible. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

ActLikeAnOwner believes the service will be a valuable tool in attracting new site members and potential candidates for job placements. The site's sole revenue stream comes from taking 40 percent of hourly salary after the site places its members in a temporary job.
