Jiffy Lube Mail Touts Shell Rebates

A new Jiffy Lube International marketing program, in conjunction with Shell Oil Products U.S. and Citi Cards, relies on direct mail to inform its customers about a program in which they can earn rebates on gasoline purchases.

The rebates are earned when they use the Shell MasterCard from Citi Cards to pay for services and products at Jiffy Lube oil change facilities. Jiffy Lube International, Houston, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell Oil Co.

Jiffy Lube customers who use their Shell MasterCard to pay for vehicle maintenance services and products at Jiffy Lube service centers now earn a 5 percent rebate based on the first $100 of their daily Jiffy Lube purchases. The rebates are applied to future purchases of Shell gasoline.

The effort includes direct mail sent to Jiffy Lube customers to inform them of the new savings they can earn by using the Shell MasterCard. Citi Cards, which issues the Shell MasterCard, also promotes the rebates through direct mail coupons in new account solicitations and through statement inserts and fulfillment mailings.
