Jay Berlin appointed CEO of The Sportsman's Guide

Multichannel merchant Redcats USA has appointed Jay Berlin as CEO of catalog and Internet brand The Sportsman's Guide.

Berlin previously held marketing management roles with Fingerhut and C.O.M.B. Corp. and was SVP of catalog and e-commerce business lines for Northern Tool & Equipment. His first day at The Sportsman's Guide was June 22.

Redcats acquired The Sportsman's Guide in the summer of 2006 for $265 million. The company owns several other brands in the sporting goods category, including multichannel brand The Golf Warehouse as well as several sporting goods related e-commerce sites, such as BargainOutfitters.com, BaseballSavings.com and SoftballSavings.com.
