Janus Shutters Austin Call Center, Cuts 400
Janus Capital Corp., the main division of mutual fund operator Stilwell Financial, has closed its customer service call center in Austin, TX, cutting 400 employees.The call center closing this month was part of the company's layoff of 546 shareholder service jobs in reaction to falling demand and diminished call volume. The remaining jobs were cut at the company's headquarters.
Janus, Denver, cut 468 jobs in February throughout the company. Another 45 training positions were eliminated in early April.
