Jacobs & Clevenger Buys Design Orchestration

In a move to broaden its areas of specialty, direct advertising agency Jacobs & Clevenger (J&C), Chicago, has acquired Design Orchestration, Buffalo Grove, IL.

Terms of the deal between the two privately held companies were not disclosed.

While J&C's key areas of specialty include technology, information marketing, utilities and telecommunications, Design Orchestration will add experience in several other sectors.

"Design Orchestration brings strong expertise in financial services, including bank products, mutual fund and insurance, as well as consumer, entertainment and interactive digital marketing," said Ron Jacobs, president of J&C. "We see this as a good way to broaden our scope and expand out client base."

The staff of Design Orchestration will relocate to J&C's Chicago office and be integrated into the structure of the agency. J&C is organized into teams serving specific clients or markets. Each team includes staff members specializing in client service, planning, database, creative and production. A new team made up of staff from both organizations has been created to serve Design Orchestration's existing clients, and CEO Mark Bryzinski will head that team.

In addition, Design Orchestration's digital marketing capabilities have been merged into J&C's, adding more technical expertise to the agency's Web design, advertising and e-commerce capabilities.
