Relationship marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide has hired Johnny Margues as SVP and executive creative director of its New York office, says Tara Back, president and managing director of Jack Morton in New York. Margues was previously executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi X.

Margues will report directly to Back. Upon starting the job, he will have seven direct reports, Back says. However, Margues was hired to fill out the marketing team, and so will likely have a larger team in the near future, she says.

“He was the right choice because I was looking for a partner to help us move our organization forward creatively,” Back says.

Margues' hiring will not markedly change the structure of Jack Morton's marketing and creative teams, Back says.

“Day-to-day, he will be mentoring, growing and recruiting the creative team,” she says. “He will be making sure nothing leaves the house that we're not proud of. He will be the cultural leader of the organization.”

Back says she did not look internally to fill the position. Margues was hired using a recruiter, she says. Back did not specify from which recruiting company Jack Morton used.
