Jack Morton Buys Caribiner's Communications Division

The Jack Morton Co., New York, a marketing agency, said yesterday it agreed to acquire substantial assets of the communications division of Caribiner International Inc., including its subsidiary businesses in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Asia for $90 million in cash.


Caribiner is an integrated communications company that delivers meetings, events, digital media, exhibits and training programs worldwide. The acquisition does not include Caribiner's audiovisual business. Jack Morton, a part of The Allied Communications Group of the Interpublic Group of Cos. Inc. Revenues for the combined companies in 2000 are expected to be more than $425 million.
