J. Jill Group Sells Off Fulfillment Center

The J. Jill Group, Quincy, MA, announced yesterday that it has sold a 91,000-square-foot fulfillment facility for $2.2 million to VUTEk Inc., a company that specializes in digital inkjet printing technology.

J. Jill had stopped operations at the facility in Meredith, NH, in December 1998 when it opened a 400,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Tilton, NH.

Richard Aschman, CEO of VUTEk, said the acquisition of the facility on Dec. 15 will enable the company to expand the manufacturing of products and customer support operations to concur with growth expectations.

Formerly known as DM Management Co., the company last year changed its name to The J. Jill Group. Its catalog targets affluent women age 35 and older.
