iTurf, Delia's to Merge

iTurf Inc., New York, and Delia's Inc., New York, earlier this month made plans to merge. The transaction is subject to shareholder approval and closing conditions, and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2000.

iTurf is part of a network of 10 Web properties and catalogs that reach 70 million 13- to 24-year-olds per year. The network -- which has 12 million names in its collective database -- includes Delia's, Droog, gURL.com and TSI Soccer.

The combined company, called Delia's iTurf Inc., is expected to focus on two core businesses: multichannel retailing under the Delia's brand, which includes catalogs, Internet and retail stores; and online content and community under the iTurf network.
