G&L Internet Bank, Pensacola, FL, this week announced the opening of the first online bank for gays and lesbians. The site - www.glbank.com - will offer a full line of FDIC-insured financial services.


Demographic surveys suggest there are about 21 million gay people living in the United States with spending power estimated at more than $800 billion.


There are currently an estimated 9.2 million gay and lesbian consumers online, and the number is expected to jump to 17.1 million in 2005, according to Computer Economics, Carlsbad, CA. n
