Intel and Excite Join Forces

Intel, Santa Clara, CA, and search engine Excite, Redwood City, CA, announced this week a multiyear agreement that would result in a new e-commerce service providing benefits for both consumers and retailers. Through the service, which is expected to be developed over the next few years, information about goods and services will be provided on the Excite Shopping Service from both large brands and boutique vendors that will be tailored to the interests and preferences of consumers.

For consumers, the service will provide them with information from more than 10,000 merchants, personalized offers and the ability to locate and learn about products associated with individual buying interests. Benefits for merchants include more visibility through the Excite Shopping Service and the ability to conduct business with consumers directly on their own sites.
