Insert Media Day Sets Location, Agenda

The Direct Marketing Association's Alternate Response Media Council holds its first Insert Media Day on Sept. 10 in Rye, NY.

The event aims to encourage more widespread recognition and use of inserts as a major direct mail medium and to raise the status of inserts within the direct marketing industry.

The ARM Council embarked on a sort of rebranding effort for the alternative media industry in October at the fall DMA show. It held an open forum to muster support for changing the catch-all name for package inserts, bind-ins, blow-ins and statement stuffers from alternative media to something signifying that these marketing practices are not "alternative" but mainstream.

Insert Media Day will take place at the Rye Town Hilton. To register for the conference, call 212/790-1500 or visit www.the-dma.org/eventcalendar. The cost is $295 for council members, $395 for DMA members and $495 for non-members. Tabletop exhibition space is $595.
