InfoUSA Revenue, Profit Rises for Fourth QuarterDatabase marketing services provider infoUSA, Omaha, NE, reported an increase in fourth-quarter 2004 profit of more than 18 percent, totaling $5.3 million versus $4.5 million last year, while revenue rose more than 13 percent to $90 million from $79 million, according to the company's earnings report released last week.
Year-end revenue was up more than 10 percent for 2004 versus 2003, at $344.9 million compared with $311.3 million. However, profit was down 6 percent for fiscal 2004 at $18.4 million compared with $19.7 million in 2003.
The company also reported fourth-quarter operating income of $11.2 million, up from $9.6 million last year. Total operating income for 2004 was $41.3 million, down from $48.5 million in 2003.
InfoUSA's Donnelley Group, which includes Donnelley Marketing, Walter Karl, Edith Roman, Yesmail, OneSource and Triplex, reported fourth-quarter 2004 revenue of $57 million, up 38 percent from last year. InfoUSA said this revenue growth resulted primarily from Edith Roman Associates, OneSource Information Services Inc. and Triplex Direct Marketing Corp.
The infoUSA Group, which offers directory products, vertical industry databases, online mailing lists, marketing leads and retail consumer products, posted fourth-quarter revenue of $33.1 million, down from $37.6 million last year. As was the case in the previous two quarters, the company said an effort to migrate customers of these businesses to subscription products from one-time sales caused a short-term revenue reduction.
