InfoUSA Data Added to Motorola Product

InfoUSA, Omaha, NE, announced a partnership yesterday to provide its Point-of-Interest data to Motorola for its VIAMOTO phone-based wireless navigation system.

The system will debut in the Avis Rent-A-Car Avis Assist service. Through the program, Avis customers will receive a rental car with a Motorola phone that gives then directions through VIATMOTO's location-based technology.

VIAMOTO uses the infoUSA data to provide search and navigation capabilities for business content. Users have access to hundreds of infoUSA Point-of-Interest search categories, according to the firm.

"InfoUSA's creativity and the flexibility of their POI data for location based services allowed for easy integration with VIAMOTO," said Neal Campbell, senior director and general manager of location solutions for Motorola in a statement.
