Inflightonline.com Fueling Up For Runway

Inflightonline.com yesterday took another step in creating an Internet shopping center for frequent fliers when it announced that 1-800-Flowers.com will be the exclusive floral/gift advertiser at www.inflightonline.com.

Financial terms were not disclosed in the agreement, but it brings Inflightonline.com closer to launching its Internet destination that will offer e-mail, hotel reservations, video entertainment and news services to in-flight airline passengers. The online shopping service is expected to launch this year, once the Deerfield Beach, FL-based firm rounds out its vendor list.

Inflightonline.com announced a similar advertising agreement in January with car rental company Hertz Corp., as well as an investment deal last year with Internet destination Lycos that helped finance the construction of www.inflightonline.com.
