Indianapolis Star Selects Young & Laramore

Gannett Co. Inc.'s Indianapolis Star newspaper has named Young & Laramore as its advertising agency of record, the newspaper's first outside shop since the early 1990s.

Young beat out finalists Pearson McMahon Fletcher England, Neary Creative and Cranfill, all Indianapolis agencies, to win the newspaper's account of undetermined spend. The review lasted 10 weeks.

Young's clients include Red Gold, Goodwill Industries, First Indiana Bank, Monsoon and Steak n Shake. Billings last year were $40 million.

For The Indianapolis Star, the full-service agency will consider broadcast, direct mail and outdoor media. The newspaper seeks to ramp up brand awareness and boost circulation.
