IDG's McGovern, Time's Pearlstine Honored

The Magazine Publishers of America and the American Society of Magazine Editors will honor two senior publishing executives Jan. 26 for their contributions to the industry at the Magazine Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Patrick J. McGovern, founder and chairman of International Data Group, will receive the Henry Johnson Fisher Award. The honor is reserved for people who made longstanding contributions to the magazine industry and society.

The other honoree, Time Inc. editor-in-chief Norman Pearlstine, will be inducted into the Magazine Editors' Hall of Fame. Inductees typically are at the pinnacle of their editorial career, with a record of service to the magazine industry via trade associations or other forms of volunteering.

Both executives will be feted at a black tie dinner at New York's The Waldorf=Astoria hotel.
