Digital marketing agency iCrossing named Patrick Stern to the newly created position of chief creative officer. He will lead iCrossing's global creative practice and report directly to Don Scales, iCrossing's president and CEO.

Stern previously served as VP and executive creative director at R/GA. Before that, he was the creative director for digital at TBWA\Chiat\Day's Media Arts Lab, where he helped create the "Get a Mac" campaign for Apple.

“He has some deep capabilities and some of his client experience has been fantastic,” said Scales. “From working with Steve Jobs to working with Walmart … he's had a broad range of creative jobs.”

A handful of new agency of record wins and an acquisition in Latin America by the Hearst-owned company contributed to the creation of the new position, Scales said.

When asked whether Stern would be provided with a support staff, Scales said additional hires are indeed anticipated, though he didn't specify a number nor a timeframe. “Any time you bring on a leader, you have to make sure he has the proper people to work with,” he said.
