ICOM Adds Agencies in Latin America

The International Communications Agency Network, a global network of independent advertising and marketing communications agencies, has added five shops as members after a recruiting drive.

The agencies are Montenegro Y Asociados Publicidad, Mexico City; Delta Publicidad, Quito, Ecuador; Tejada & Asociados Comunicaciones Ltda., Bogota, Colombia; Da Vinci Communications, Montevideo, Uruguay; and Publicidad Causa, Lima, Peru.

ICOM's drive helped replace agencies acquired by multinational conglomerates in these markets. ICOM said it typically has the leading independent agencies in each market, making them targets for multinationals offering hard-to-turn-down monetary deals.

The new shops restore ICOM's strengths in Latin America, where the network has 11 agencies. Regional headquarters has been moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil. ICOM is based in Rollinsville, CO, and has 70 members in 45 countries.
