IBeam Debuts Broadcast, Ad-Marking Systems

IBeam Corp., Sunnyvale, CA, yesterday debuted its Activecast Interactive Webcasting system, which allows companies to use video, audio, slide presentations and graphics for online broadcasts and Internet corporate meetings.


Activecast will be marketed to Internet-based sports and entertainment companies, Web-based seminar firms, corporate communications divisions and distance learning organizations. Cost of the system was not disclosed.


Separately, iBeam and Sonicbox Inc., Mountain View, CA, yesterday said they would develop and release a Web radio ad-marking system. The two Internet radio technology firms plan to offer a program that will maximize audio space on the Web, which will allow Internet radio service providers to run more advertisements and therefore generate more revenue.
