Originally called the California Tax Reduction Movement, HJTA today maintains a full-time presence in Sacramento to continue protecting Proposition 13, and to resist new proposed tax increases on a statewide basis. HJTA's national arm, the American Tax Reduction Movement, promotes taxpayers rights on the national front. Consisting of politically active senior homeowners, the HJTA membership list is the largest direct mail sold list of its kind for California, with more than 85% over age 65.
