Houston DMA Cancels Conference Because of Hurricane

The Houston Direct Marketing Association said yesterday that it has canceled next week's Direct Marketing Days conference because of Hurricane Rita.

In an e-mail to members, the group said it had received "a great number of registration cancellations" for the conference, which was scheduled for Oct. 5-6 at the Hyatt Regency, and had no choice but to "cancel the event in these extraordinary times."

The Houston DMA said all monies collected will be returned in the next several days.
