Horizon to Partner With eGrocery.com

Horizon Pharmacies Inc., Denison, TX, today formed a new strategic alliance with eGrocery.com Inc., Minneapolis, MN, a company in which it will also make an investment of $200,000.


The partnership will allow customers of some 1,000 Internet-based grocery stores affiliated with or owned by eGrocery.com to have access to HorizonScripts.com either by direct links to its Web site or banner advertisements promoting the Horizon site.


HorizonScripts.com will also become the exclusive fulfillment center for all online prescriptions and home medical equipment of customers shopping on eGrocery.com sites, except for those with pre-existing retail pharmaceutical operation agreements.


EGrocery.com provides online shopping programs for the grocery and supermarket industry.


Rick McCord, president/CEO of Horizon said, "The strategic alliance with eGrocery.com will intensify our move into the e-commerce market." He said the two businesses working together created a powerful relationship that would help increase the company's customer and prescription base for the foreseeable future.


Currently, Horizon owns and operates one Internet pharmacy, www.horizonscripts.com; two mail order pharmacies; and 51 retail pharmacies in 17 states.
