Hoover's, D&B Boost Web Offerings

Hoover's Inc. enhanced its subscriber Web site with new search and list-building capabilities as well as a consolidated database, the Austin, TX, company said today.

The Hoover's site at www.hoovers.com gives subscribers information on companies and industries in the United States and worldwide, including executives and decision makers.

A new search infrastructure for the site was created through a partnership with Fast Search & Transfer to increase speed, ease of use and efficiency, according to Hoover's. The enhanced list-building tool lets users sort and fine-tune data more easily as well as download up to 3,000 records at once as opposed to the previous 2,000.

Additional data from parent company D&B has been added to the Hoover's database to enhance its depth. The site's design also was changed to make it more user friendly.

Also this week, D&B launched its Market Insight tool, a Web-based application that gives users a detailed view of their marketing databases. The system lets users understand their customers by value, frequency, churn and lifetime value through analysis and overlays of D&B data. The data then can be used for customer profiling and identifying prospects, the company said.
