Holiday guides hit mailboxes

More than 110 million households will receive the U.S. Postal Service holiday media guide this week.

The guide contains customer-friendly information on popular USPS products, services and time-saving features including free package pickup, Click-N-Ship labels and desktop postage, options for mailing across the country and overseas and recommended mailing deadlines.

The six-panel guide looks to resemble the hobby of scrapbooking, with borders of holiday ornaments and tree lights, ribbons and bows, and snowmen and snowflake cutouts.

The USPS issued its first guide in 2004. The agency said independent consumer research showed that nearly 40 percent of those surveyed remembered receiving the guide and that more than two-thirds of those consumers used the information in it.
