Hitwise Buys Search Conversion Technology

Online competitive intelligence firm Hitwise, New York, acquired the technology of HitDynamics, which provides search campaign management, search reporting and conversion tracking analytics.

Hitwise bought the technology for an undisclosed amount, it was announced yesterday. HitDynamics, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, will continue to operate independently and serve its customer base in Europe.

Hitwise wanted to join its search keyword research tool with HitDynamics' bid management and conversion tracking for paid search campaigns into one interface for its 1,200 Fortune 5000 clients worldwide.

"This is for those [clients] who want to have one vendor to do research, planning and execution all together in one, rather than using a bunch of disparate tools," said Andrew Walsh, CEO of Hitwise.
