Healthy quarter for Rodale

Rodale's third quarter gains were driven by print advertising revenues and digital initiatives, according to the Emmaus, PA-based publisher. The company is boasting 4 million new customers since the beginning of the year, with one-third of these acquired online. With Men's Health and Women's Health magazines leading the charge, ad pages increased by 9.3% compared to Q3 2006. Print advertising revenues increased by 15.5% over Q3 2006, and ad revenues from magazine-branded Web sites increased by 61% compared to Q3 2006. Medical ad pages were up 43.7%, toiletries and cosmetics 30% and food/beverage 7.4%.
