Harte-Hanks Buys Software Maker to Enhance Online Capabilities

Direct marketing services provider Harte-Hanks Inc., San Antonio, has acquired LYNQS Newmedia of Kansas City, MO, which develops Internet and Intranet applications for the financial services, pharmaceutical and other industries. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.


LYNQS develops sophisticated software applications designed to maximize the effectiveness of its clients' online marketing communications. The company will become a part of Harte-Hanks Interactive, which was formed earlier this year. LYNQS eventually will move to Harte-Hanks' new facility in Lenexa, KS.


Todd Reith and Cathy Allin, owners of LYNQS, are expected to remain with the company.


Richard Hocchauser, president and chief operating officer of Harte-Hanks, said in a prepared statement that the acquisition "demonstrates our commitment in providing the highest level of new media services to our strategic customer groups."
