Harland Clarke makes integrated, e-mail agency acquisitions

Harland Clarke, a San Antonio, TX-based marketing firm focused on the financial sector, has purchased e-mail firm SubscriberMail and integrated agency Protocol Integrated Marketing Services (IMS). Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The SubscriberMail deal closed December 31, according to a Harland Clarke spokesperson. SubscriberMail, whose clients include Xerox and the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks, will remain an autonomous business unit with its current staff and Lisle, IL headquarters. Its CEO, Jordan Ayan, will become GM and SVP reporting to president and COO Dan Singleton, the spokesperson added.

A Harland Clarke representative could not be immediately reached for comment.

“Our purpose has always been to help our clients acquire, onboard, grow and retain valuable customer relationships for the long-term,” Singleton said in a statement. “This same level of commitment was demonstrated by Protocol IMS and SubscriberMail; it was a factor in our decisions to acquire both companies.”

Further information on the Protocol IMS acquisition, including closing date and its clients, was not available.
