Hard Rock names Pepsi alum Galloway CMO

Hospitality brand Hard Rock International named John Galloway, former VP of marketing for Gatorade at PepsiCo, its VP and CMO, effective January 11. He is charged with overseeing global marketing, advertising and promotions for Hard Rock's 159 venues worldwide.

Galloway is leading Hard Rock's global marketing efforts for the company's cafes and casino hotels, including live music, memorabilia, artist relations, sponsorships, promotions and special events.

He previously worked as VP and GM of Izze Beverage Co. and VP of sports and media and brand manager at Mountain Dew. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Galloway worked at Tracy Locke Partnership and Young & Rubicam.

Galloway is based at the company's headquarters in Orlando, FL.

Last month, Hard Rock International launched a mobile marketing CRM program in an effort to acquire new customers and build loyalty among existing ones.

A Hard Rock representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
