Guild's Catalog, Overall Holiday Sales Rise
Guild LLC, Madison, WI, a marketer of original art and fine crafts, said Friday that it set new sales records despite poor holiday sales results produced by many of the nation's retailers.Its accomplishments included:
· An overall 16 percent holiday sales rise over 2001. November sales represented the highest month in the company's history.
· Catalog sales higher than plan by 32 percent as of Dec. 25. The holiday catalog exceeded last year's performance by 16 percent. No sales figures were announced, only percentage changes.
Overall, online traffic between October and December rose 18 percent from the same period a year ago.
